April General Membership Meeting - Gassville Community Center

Monthly Membership meetings are on the third Tuesday of each month from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, but the doors open at 7:30 am for coffee, snacks and "hand-pressing" time. 

Meetings are normally held at the Gassville Community Center, next to Gassville City Hall at 204 South School Street.  The Sponsors this month are Jan and Peter Peitz and the speaker this month will be Regina Ellis of the Peitz Cancer Center.

MASTER GARDENER'S ANNUAL PLANT SALE

 

The Baxter County Master Gardeners will hold their annual Plant Sale Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 12 noon. The sale will take place at the Baxter County Fairgrounds Horticulture Building, 1507 Fairgrounds Drive, Mountain Home.

The sale will include flowers, vegetables, herbs, native plants, ground covers, bushes and even some trees all grown by the Master Gardeners. Prices are very competitive, so come early because the best plants go quickly. Master Gardeners will be on site to advise you on the care and planting of your purchases. They will even help you get your plants to your car.

The proceeds from the sale benefit the Master Gardeners' educational programs throughout Mountain Home and the county.

Our Healthy “Urban” Streams - Keynote speaker , Sandi Formica, Executive Director, of the Watershed Conservation Resource Center.  Together, she and Associate Director, Matthew A. VanEps, P.E., have over 32 years of progressive environmental experience, specializing in the natural channel stream restoration approach.     Good food, good company, the facts and the reasons.

You’re invited to “Kick Off” the 14th Annual Cotter Trout Festival at the “Riverside Garden Party” -

Arrive early at 4:30 p.m. to observe the artists painting in the “Quick Draw” Competition.

Appetizers, Dinner and Desserts by Mikal Mershon, “Gypsy Jazz” music by Cutthroat Trout Band

14th Annual Cotter Trout Festival

 

Saturday starts off early with Vendor set-up at 7 a.m. – (Vendor application below) followed by the best hometown parade anywhere. Be sure to check out the Kids’ fishing whole, fly-casting demonstration with North Arkansas Fly Fishers, Festival Food to die for…auctions, Classic Car Show, and live music throughout the day.  Relax, unwind and enjoy the wide variety of educational exhibits and unique vendors displaying of art, jewelry, photography and unique handmade crafts.  Vendors, don’t delay.  Register your vendor booth today if you would like to showcase your business at the festival.

Saturday, June 6th, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

In Gassville City Park located on Hwy 345 South

Events Include:

  • 5 K Run/1 Mile Fun Walk
  • Parade at 10:00 a.m.
  • Burgers, Hot Dogs, and the fixings along with Ice Cream, Funnel Cakes, and Sno-Cones
  • Musical Entertainment 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by Crossfire, The High Strung Band and Southern Faith
  • Car Show and Automotive Swap Meet
  • 100 plus Vendors and Displays including: Arts, Crafts, Antiques and Collectible Booths, Local Authors, National Guard Game Area, D.A.R.E. Truck, Home Depot Kids Building Project, and
  • Co-Ed Softball Game
